gcenterprises.us underconstruction

We sure have learned a lot about web design and development in the last few months. This has led us to change how we approach the presentation of our website from Flash based to a more traditional HTML site.

Wanting to set ourselves up for success in the this ever morphing marketing environment, we looked to  Blue Wing Studios to head up the project. They have advised us to pursue methods of social media such as blogging and twittering to connect better with clients as well as many of the contractors we collaborate with.

This current site is under review as we speak and should be live shortly. For now, you may subscribe to this blog or begin following us on Twitter. We are excited as we enter this new era of social media marketing and look forward to the many new opportunities it will provide.

World Ag Expo 2010

Another successful year at the World Ag Expo in Tulare, CA.! We have been at the same location for the last 30 years and each year continue to enjoy meeting new customers and interacting with long-time friends.

This year Ron Friesen of Signature Roofing, Kalvin Sommers of Sommers Construction, and Guy Wilson of Wilson Roofing came out to help once again with the roofing portion of the booth.

People entered our booth looking for solutions for future projects, but often want immediate answers on how to solve their roof problems. Gerry Thiesen was able to sit down and propose bids on the spot for these customers. Immediately following the expo, he looks forward to making trips out to see all these customers and show them how G & C can bring them peace of mind by protecting their investments.

Each contractor walked away with a stack of leads and many customers seeking immediate attention to their leaky metal, comp, built-up or residential roof.

On the other side of the booth, an exposed engine was running with a radiator with holes in it, but not leaking due to Conklin's Vehicle Product Dike.

Weldon Koehn helped demonstrate this division of the Conklin Company by showing farmers how our products can add longevity to their farm equipment and vehicles.

Thanks to everyone who made this year's World Ag Expo such a success! This has proven to be such a great kick-off to our year and we look forward to working the leads and connecting with everyone we met.

World Ag Expo 2010 setup

We arrived to our booth at 10 am on Monday, February 1st to begin the setup. Setup seems to go faster and faster each year since we have been at the same spot for the last 30 years.

The Tulare World Ag Expo has always been our most anticipated show of the year. Focused buyers, large metal roofs and down to earth farmers make this the a great time to show building owners how our roof systems can seal their leaky roofs and save them money by reducing energy costs.

Ron Friesen of Signature Roofing in Fresno and Kalvin Sommers of Sommers Construction in Atwater helped us setup our roofing booth this year as they have done for many years prior. These men have seen first hand the benefits of this type of show and as it kicks off Tuesday, February 9th, are filled with expectation.

February Contractor Training

In February we held another 3 Day Contractor Training to teach contractors how to bid, install roof systems, and tips on running a successful contracting business. Eight roofers, representing 5 different companies attended. This smaller group allowed time for each of them to get their own questions answered as well as their hands dirty with some new Conklin products like Equinox.

Day 1 - Single Ply & Fluid Ply Systems Training began indoors as Gerald Thiesen reviewed video and photos of previous jobs, sharing little tips he and his crews have learned over the years. Other contractors joined in with what they have learned as well, adding to the open forum nature of the training. After a hearty BBQ meal, they headed outside where Ron Friesen from Signature Roofing demonstrated how to become a master at detail work. Each contractor was able to get some hands-on experience with the Equinox coating, Dupont's Hy-Crown Single-Ply and even Conklin's Flexion systems.

Day 2 - Tru Presentation using Tru-Bid Training was a day that many contractors find invaluable. Beginning with the Excel-based bidding software Tru-Bid, contractors saw how easy it is to build an accurate bid by following some basic steps as well as how to customize the software to meet their specific needs.

Day 3 - MR & Foam Systems Training once again gave contractors some more hands-on experience with a variety of products, so they feel confident in providing multiple options to their customers.

In the afternoon Sergio Madrigal from E&C Foam Insulation operated his foam rig and demonstrated how the foam system may be the perfect solution for a customer. Sergio demonstrated his excellence in spraying foam and how the slightest changes affect the final outcome.

What makes theses trainings so invaluable is that tip that helps them resolve an issue they may have been battling forever, like how to stop wicking at the edge of a roof or simply a more efficient way of managing gear.
Contact us to find out when our next training is, so as not to miss out on the 30-year contracting experience of G & C Enterprises.
